Hebridean Beach House Uig Isle of Lewis

Hebridean cottage by the beach at Uig

Lag na Mara

This Hebridean cottage offers spectacular views out across a timeless landscape, here is a place to relax and witness the ever changing moods of these mysterious Islands.  Turquoise waves crashing against white sand, light dancing across ancient cliffs whilst rainbows dip below the horizon, as you watch, colours change, calm descends.Wildflower called a Bogbean

Wildflowers paint the *Machair from early spring through the summer, offering a carpet of colour that even the sheep are hard pressed to crop. Sitting quietly outside the cottage it isn't unusual to see Eagles soaring on the air currents, the islands are home to many species of rare birds. Corncrakes are still to be found in Uig, their grating call far removed from the song of the Skylarks that soar high overhead.

This stunning beach house provides you with a very comfortable base from where to enjoy everything that the area has to offer, the option of a quiet relaxing retreat, a fun-packed watersports adventure, a real Hebridean experience or a combination of all three.

*Machair is a Gaelic word that describes an extensive low-lying fertile plain. Almost half of all Scottish machair occurs in the Outer Hebrides and it is one of the rarest habitat types in Europe.
